Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American actor, dancer and singer since the early 1990s. In her early Broadway performances, she starred her role in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. The actress was awarded her Tony Award for Best Featured actor in a Play for playing Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Tony Award-winning actor Annaleigh Ashford is a veteran of the majority of her career working alongside renowned actors and directors in the stage, film and TV and she continues that award-winning project with various upcoming ones. Ashford will next be seen with Kumail Nannjiani in Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited Series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford is in the production of Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust which also features Sarah Paulson. In the form of it is a Hulu Original, the film will be available on Disney DTC's platform. The film will premiere in March 2023. Ashford will return to Broadway and star opposite Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. This production will be produced by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team which created Hamilton. Ashford appeared as Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, which is based on the scandal which included Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the nation crisis. For two seasons, she played a prominent role in the hit show on CBS called B Positive. It was developed by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre it also featured legendary actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her role as Essie as Essie in You Can't Take It with You. Additional Broadway performances for Ashford include Sunday in the Park, as George Wicked legally Blonde, and her role as Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this performance she received a Tony Award nomination. Ashford, who was brought up in Denver and now lives living in Los Angeles and New York.
